Kingaspis glabrata

The Kingaspis genus has an effaced glabella that has no furrows. Notice on the top photo below only the suggestion of a glabella that differentiates it from the rest of the cephalon.  It is however characterized by being very convex in relation to the entire head (cephalon). Rarely are the genal spines preserved. When they are preserved as in this specimen these are short but sharp. From time to time Kingaspis with recurved spines, facing forward are seen by collectors on the fossil market.  These are of a different species same genus known as armatus.
